16 August 2020- Thammasat hosted Thai Peace Day 2020 tocommemmorate the75 th anniversary of Free Thai Movement and on the Occasion of the 120th Birth of Prof. Dr. Pridi Banomyong at Thammasat University Thaprachan Campus. In this occasion, General Surayud Chulanont, President of Privy Council, delivered an opening speech. The participants included Ambassadors and representatives from fourteen Embassies, Thammasat executives, faculty members, students and officers were gathering in this event. This precious event comprised flower tributes at the model of Free Thai Sculpture to commemorate the courage of Free Thai Movement and people who sacrificed their life during World War II. There were also keynote speeches “ China’ s Perspective on the Free Thai Movement and World Peace” delivered by Mr. Yang Xin, Charge d'Affaires ad interim, The Embassy of the People's Republic of China and “Independence and Peace Declaration” delivered by Dr. Charivat Santaputra, Former Ambassador of Thailand to Germany.
