14 - 17 February 2019 – Office of International Affairs led 38 International students from 10 countries to visit Thammasat University Lampang Campus and to explore Lampang Province to broaden their perspectives on Thailand.
According to Vice Rector for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitti Prasirtsuk, the project was born out from a visit to Lampang Campus with the staff from the International Affairs office last November. Apparently, Thai students at Lampang Campus are very keen to have activities and exchange with international students.
Vice Rector for Legal Affairs and Administration of Lampang Campus, Prof. Dr. Pairojana Kampusiri, said that this program provided a chance for international students to participate in several Lanna Cultural activities with Thai students, such as basket weaving, food cooking and ceramic painting. Moreover, both international and Thai students also had social responsibility activities with students at Hang Chat Wittaya School, including English class and fence painting.

"Joining the trip to Lampang was one of good decisions that I have made while studying at Thammasat university, SIIT. The whole trip was finely organized and set into a place which is normaly overlooked by tourists and also students. In 4 days we were able to meet true culture of the north, meet and make friends from students at the Lampang campus, who were really helpful and we all appreciated their help, but also even nature which, even in a dry season, was wonderful. Workshops were amazing part of the trip as well, when normaly can an exchange student be taught by local people how to make traditional flowers, food, baskets or decorations. Big thanks for the organizators of Lampang trips, students of Lampang campus, who helped us with everything, volunteers who taught us so much and anyone who helped with this trip. Also, our bus driver was professional!"

“The Lampang trip was the perfect opportunity to meet other Thai students and more international students. I absolutely loved learning to make Thai traditional desserts and bouquets; if I have the chance to visit Lampang again, I would go in a heartbeat.”

“I was so glad to participate in this trip! This was my first time to hear this about this province. I like Lampang, the reason is the weather is better than Bangkok. These days we were able to meet the local culture of the north, by this chance, I made many friends and learned many interesting things. Compare to Bangkok, Lampang was more peaceful so I can really be enjoyed the nature. In this trip, the activity that which impressed me the most was the workshop. I could decorate the cup by myself. I will cherish it!! Thanks for the organization of Lampang trip and others who had to help me, if I have another opportunity, I will join it again!!”
