Thammasat and Peking U. renew strategic partnership

Thammasat University reaffirmed its long-standing partnership with Peking University during a high-level meeting held at Thammasat’s Tha Prachan campus on 9 June 2025. The delegation from Thammasat, led by Rector Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, and Dr. Usanee Patapsikij Lertrattanon, Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs. 

They welcomed senior representatives of Peking University, led by Prof. JIANG Guohua, Vice Chair of the Peking University Council, accompanied by the Deputy Director of the International Office and other senior officials 

The meeting underscored both institutions’ commitment to deepening academic collaboration through expanded student and staff exchange programs, joint academic seminars, dual-degree degree offerings, and co-research initiatives. Priority areas of collaboration included Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Traditional Chinese medicine – fields in which both universities bring distinct strengths and expertise.   

Discussions also included preparations for the upcoming official visit by Thammasat’s executive team to Peking University, where both universities will participate in a formal signing ceremony to celebrate the renewal of their partnership.    

In addition, Peking University extended an official invitation for Thammasat to join the 22nd Beijing Forum, scheduled to take place in Peking from 7 to 9 November 2025. This year’s forum will be held under the overarching theme of The Harmony of Civilizations and Prosperity for All”, with a sub-theme focusing onCivilizational Coexistence in the Age of Digital Intelligence”.
