On 16 July 2025, Thammasat University welcomed representatives from the University of York, United Kingdom, to its Rangsit campus to explore avenues for expanded academic collaboration.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, hosted the meeting with Prof. Dr. Antonios Roumpakis, Head of Social Policy, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aniela Wenham, Deputy Head of Social Policy, from York’s School for Business and Society. Also attending the meeting were executives from the Faculties of Social Administration, Learning Sciences and Education, and the Language Institute.
Currently, the Faculty of Social Administration and the School for Business and Society cooperate at the faculty-level on a dual degree program. During the meeting, the University of York delegation expressed keen interest in expanding collaboration with other faculties at Thammasat, particularly in research initiatives and short-term academic programs.
The Faculty of Learning Sciences and Education proposed further collaboration in research, with an emphasis on social sciences, mental health and well-being. Meanwhile, the Language Institute expressed interest in pursuing joint research on the sociology of education.
To elevate the partnership to the university-level, Assoc. Prof. Supreedee highlighted the importance of developing internship programs with credit transfer opportunities.
