On 27 August 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, welcomed Prof. Dr. Piya Pongsapitaksanti, Director of the Center for International Programs at the Faculty of Sociology, Kyoto Sangyo University (KSU), Japan, during his visit to Thammasat University’s Rangsit Centre.
At the faculty level, KSU and Thammasat University’s Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication currently collaborate on short-term academic programs. These include opportunities for KSU students under the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship scheme to participate in academic activities organized by the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication.
To further expand academic collaboration, both sides agreed to pursue a university-level Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee noted that Pridi Banomyong International College and other Social Science disciplines are well positioned to collaborate with Kyoto Sangyo University, focusing on student and staff exchanges.
This visit marked an important step toward deepening academic ties and laying the foundation for broader, long-term collaboration between Thammasat University and Kyoto Sangyo University.
