British Embassy strengthens academic ties between Thammasat and UK universities

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, along with the OIA Coordinator for Europe and Oceania, recently welcomed Ms. Nantamas Chatraporn and Ms. Pondwipa Suthiworasin from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), British Embassy in Thailand, during a courtesy visit to the Office of International Affairs on Thammasat’s Tha Prachan campus. 

This meeting focused on enhancing academic collaboration between Thammasat and UK universities, particularly in areas such as Joint and Double Degree programs, Summer Exchanges, and Visiting Lecturer initiatives. The embassy representatives also extended an invitation for Thammasat to participate in the upcoming “Higher and Trade Mission” event, scheduled for November, 2025, designed to foster dialogue between UK universities and businesses and their Thai counterparts. 

During the discussion, the Vice Rector emphasized Thammasat’s commitment to equipping students with practical, outside-the-classroom skills through internship programsespecially in Social Sciences and Health Sciences – as part of the university’s broader educational policy. In response, the British delegation shared valuable insights into the UK’s offerings for international students, including Summer programs and Double Degree opportunities, aimed at encouraging academic exchange and mobility.
