Thais Likes Kai Jeow – Basic Thai Cooking social gathering
19 August 2024 – The OIA, in cooperation with the Pridi Banomyong International College, offered a hands-on cooking class for participants without previous Thai-cooking experience. The workshop attracted nearly 110 Thai and international students and staff wanting to learn how to make their own Thai-style omelet (Kai Jeow).
The event started with an opening speech by Dr. Usanee Lertrattananon, Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs, to encourage participants to creatively customize a basic dish to become a specialty of their own.
The practical workshop introduced beginners to different ingredients that can be mixed in to make Kai Jeow. The dish may be quite new for foreigners, but it is very simple and easy to cook back home in their home countries. All attendees enjoyed what they prepared in an atmosphere of friendship and fond chit-chat and beat the heat in Thailand by enjoying Thai-style ice cream.
