Thais Like Kai Jeow – “Kai Jeow your own”

15 August 2025 – The OIA, in collaboration with Pridi Banomyong International College (PBIC), hosted a hands-on Thai cooking workshop aimed at international students new to Thai cuisine. The event attracted over 150 eager participants, all excited to learn how to prepare a classic Thai-style omelet, Kai Jeow.

The workshop opened with an inspiring speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs. He introduced a creative twist to the traditional Kai Jeow, encouraging students to personalize the dish using ingredients available in their home countries. His tips and guidance helped demystify Thai cooking for beginners and made the recipe more adaptable and approachable.

Participants enjoyed their homemade Kai Jeow alongside Pad Kra Pao (Thai basil stir-fry), a popular local combination. The fluffy, crispy omelet paired perfectly with the savory, spicy stir-fry, offering a well-rounded taste experience. The friendly atmosphere was filled with laughter, conversation and cultural sharing – topped off with refreshing Thai-style ice cream to beat the tropical heat.

The interactive and enjoyable workshop not only offered a valuable culinary experience but also fostered meaningful cultural exchange. It deepened participants’ appreciation of Thai food and traditions, making the event both educational and memorable.
