Thammasat and Osaka Metropolitan Reaffirm Partnership

On 10 March 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, warmly welcomed Prof. Masahide Takahashi, Vice President of the Graduate School of Engineering, along with executives from the Graduate Schools of Law and Nursing, and an Assistant Manager from the OMU Global Office of Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU), Japan. The delegation visited the Office of International Affairs at Thammasat University, Tha Prachan campus.   

During the visit, the OMU delegation introduced their newly established “College of Creative Studies”, which offers a diverse range of project-based learning programs. These programmes span interdisciplinary areas such as Planetary Futures, Socio-Ecological Systems, Culture & Heritage, and Scientific Frontiers. Both institutions reviewed their ongoing cooperation at the faculty level, particularly in short-term programmes. At the university level, discussions focused on enhancing student exchange opportunities under the current agreement.  

The meeting also explored potential avenues for further cooperation through the College of Creative Studies, including expanded student mobility and customized short programmes. Relevant information on these initiatives was exchanged between the two parties.  

This visit reaffirmed the strong academic partnership between Thammasat and Osaka Metropolitan University and paved the way for deeper and more sustained long-term collaboration in the future.
