Thammasat and SOAS Advance Further Collaboration

On 5 May 2026, the Office of International Affairs at Thammasat University hosted a meeting with representatives from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London, UK, led by Prof. Adam Habib, Vice-Chancellor, along with senior executives at SOAS. The delegates were received by the OIA Director, together with the Vice Dean for Research and International Affairs and executives from Pridi Banomyong International College.

The visit aimed to review and strengthen existing cooperation between Thammasat and SOAS, while exploring opportunities to deepen collaboration at the graduate level, with particular emphasis on joint degree and double degree programs in the fields of Political Science and International Relations, Social Sciences and Humanities, Linguistics, Culture and Area Studies, Development Studies as well as advancing strategic partnerships.

To deepen academic ties, Thammasat expressed its readiness to further expand collaboration with relevant faculties, particularly in the fields of Social Sciences, Political Science, and Liberal Arts.

During the meeting, SOAS introduced its new academic initiatives, including reimagined partnerships, co-developed curricula, collaborative teaching and learning models, and hybrid or blended learning approaches.

This visit marks another significant step towards strengthening the long-standing academic collaboration between the two institutions, expanding cooperation beyond university-wide agreements to the faculty-level.
