Welcoming New Students to Thammasat: Semester 2/2025

International Orientation Day

On 4 January 2026, nearly 150 international students from around the world gathered at the Tha Prachan Campus for Thammasat University’s International Orientation Day for Semester 2/2025. The event provided a warm welcome and practical guidance to help students navigate life in Thailand and adjust smoothly to their new academic and cross-cultural environment.

The program opened with an encouraging address by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, who invited students to embrace their new life in Thailand with confidence and openness. Dr. Supreedee also delivered two insightful talks – “Guidance for New TU Friends: Do’s and Don’ts in Thailand” and “All You Should Know About Thailand, highlighting the importance of cross-cultural understanding. Through these sessions, students were introduced to Thai culture, social etiquette, and campus life, inspiring them to engage with their new community with curiosity and respect.

The orientation continued with informative sessions on “Visa & Immigration Regulations” and “Application for Visa or Application for Change”, also led by Dr. Supreedee. These presentations equipped students with essential knowledge to manage immigration requirements confidently. He also introduced upcoming OIA-sponsored events scheduled for the semester.

The day concluded with a basic Thai language session conducted by Ms. Warachaya Liaotianchai, a lecturer from Pridi Banomyong International College. This interactive session provided students with a foundation in everyday Thai expressions, helping to facilitate smoother communication and daily interactions.

Overall, the International Orientation Day fostered meaningful connections among students and supported them in building routines that balance academic success with well-being during their time at Thammasat and in Thailand.
