On 21 May 2026, Thammasat University formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Foundation for Digital Development (FDD) and the Association of Thai Software Industry (ATSI) during a ceremony held on Thammasat’s Tha Prachan campus. The agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Rector of Thammasat University; Dr. Witoon Simachokedee, Chairman of the Foundation for Digital Development; and Dr. Narat Saraman, President of the Association of Thai Software Industry. The signing was witnessed by senior executives and representatives from all three institutions.
In his remarks, Professor Dr. Supasawad reaffirmed Thammasat’s commitment to empowering its support staff as a vital driver of institutional growth through the “Prompt-Harness Capital” concept. He also highlighted the integration of AI, particularly prompt engineering, into operational workflows to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, reduce costs, and create measurable outcomes that support sustainable organizational development.
Dr. Witoon, Chairman of the Foundation for Digital Development, expressed the Foundation’s readiness to drive workforce development under its “Digital & AI Workforce” strategy. The collaboration includes the co-development of a three-year roadmap and the launch of a pilot project to upskill personnel for technological changes, ensuring that the “Prompt-Harness Capital” initiative delivers practical and measurable outcomes.
Representing the Association of Thai Software Industry, Dr. Narat emphasized the association’s readiness to equip students with digital skills through cooperative and work-integrated education, especially by fostering analytical business thinking and professional system development skills in order to close the skill gap for the new generation and to align with the needs of Thailand’s software industry.
Under the five-year MOU, the three institutions will collaborate to enhance workforce readiness and develop highly skilled professionals for the era of technological transformation. The partnership will further promote the “Prompt-Harness Capital” concept as a core mechanism for advancing human capital development. Areas of collaboration include student, staff and scholar exchanges; joint academic and research initiatives; resource sharing; digital and AI consultancy and training programs; and organizational development aligned with global standards.
The ceremony marked a significant step forward, benefiting not only students through practical training and cooperative education, but also supporting staff and scholars through collaborative digital and AI initiatives. Additionally, the partnership serves as a community service to uplift digital skills for people of all ages, driving Thailand toward a sustainable, AI-driven economic future.
