"Where to eat"

Thammasat University have several canteens in both Tha Prachan and Rangsit. There are varieties of Thai-Style foods, vegetarian and halal dishes and drink are available at the very low cost of ฿35-฿100. The canteen areas are open Monday – Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; some stalls are open on Saturday and all are closed on Sunday.

For students looking for a place to study, work on assignments, or join a training session, the Computer Service Center at Tha Prachan Campus has got you covered! It’s located in the Gymnasium Building, on the 1st and 2nd floors, and is open to both students and university staff. The center is open daily from 8.30 – 20:30.

 

On the 1st floor, you’ll find computers available for students to use—perfect for studying, conducting research, or hanging out between classes.

 

On the 2nd floor, you’ll find a computer lab set up for training sessions and learning activities. It’s an excellent spot for workshops or any tech-related classes, with all the tools you need to boost your digital skills.

  • White shirt without stripes or prints, a collar is optional. The sleeves must be unrolled and shirt always tucked in.
  • Black trousers without stripes. If you already have the trousers with the exact description, you don’t need to buy one.
  • University logo belt buckle.

Apply for E-Visa

E-Visa Application for Thammasat University International Students

Thammasat University will provide you with an official acceptance letter and a recommendation letter. These documents are required to apply for a Non-Immigrant “ED” (Education) visa. You must obtain the ED visa before entering Thailand.

Applicants for the Thai E-Visa are no longer required to submit their passports or supporting documents in person at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General. Applications must be submitted online. Please note that you must be outside of Thailand at the time of your application.

Once your E-Visa application is approved, you will receive a confirmation email from the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General. Please print this confirmation and present it to the airline when departing (right?) and Thai immigration officials upon arrival in Thailand.

*All applications are subject to approval. The Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General may request an interview or additional documents. Submission of a visa application does not necessarily mean that a visa will be granted. Please also note that the visa fees are non-refundable.

*Nationals of certain countries may be restricted from using the e-visa system, or may require additional documentation or specific procedures.

VALIDITY OF A VISA – The validity of a visa is 3 months.

PERIOD OF STAY 
Holder of this type of visa is entitled to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days.  He or she may apply for an extension of stay at the Office of the Immigration Bureau and may be granted such extension for a period of one year from the date of first entry into Thailand.

NOTE :
The date of validity indicates that the visa must be utilized by entering Thailand within the period. Holders will receive an initial stay of 90 days from the date of arrival. They are required to extend their permission to stay after 90 days of their arrival at the Immigration Bureau. Please visit the Immigration Bureau’s website for more details and inquire about any new steps and/or changes in the process.  http://www.immigration.go.th/

Please note: There is a 2,000 THB fine for a late 90-Day notification.

Visa Extension

Those qualified persons can obtain an additional one year stay permit counting from the date of entry in the Kingdom pertaining to the Office of the Immigration Bureau’s regulations on extension of stay. The extension of stay is at the discretion of the Immigration officer.

Students can extend their student visa before its expiry date by submitting the following documentation:

  • Visa extension form TM.7
  • Letter of certification from Thammasat University (please contact your program coordinator)
  • A photocopy of the passport
  • One recent 4 x 6 cm full-face photo
  • Tuition fee receipt (if any)
  • Grade report (if any)
  • The visa extension fee is 1,900 Baht.

 

If the visa is about to expire while in Thailand, students should notify the Student Exchange Unit at least two weeks before the expiry date. The visa extension must be submitted in person at the Immigration Bureau.

Required documents to extend a visa in the “overstay” status:

  • Visa extension form TM.7
  • Letter of certification from Thammasat University (please contact your program coordinator)
  • A photocopy of the passport
  • One recent 4 x 6 cm full-face photo
  • Tuition fee receipt (if any)

Online Extension of Stay in the Kingdom Service (E-Extension)

The Immigration Bureau is introducing another new form for applying for an extension of stay in the Kingdom of Thailand through an online system. Just click on the link :

How to apply?

Step 1: Provide the Application details and upload the necessary Documents. You can submit your application through the VFS website. The first step of the e-Extension application is to register on the website. Provide all the requested information and upload the necessary documents.

Important notes:
1.The passport that you use for the application must be the same as the one you will use for getting e-Extension visa. If different, then your e-Extension will be invalid.

2.Your visa should be valid from your date of e-Extension application. The passport should have at least 2 blank pages for stamping by the Thai Immigration Officer

3.Each applicant must obtain an individual e-Extension application, including infants and children. The e-Extension applications can be created either for a single individual or for a family (minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 applicants).

4.During your e-Extension application, make sure that the information provided by you matches exactly with the information in your passport, otherwise your e-Extension application will be invalid, and you will not be eligible for a refund. Once the e-Extension visa is submitted for processing, the information provided cannot be changed.

5.The e-Extension application has no connection with Thailand Embassies or Consulate General. For any questions or comments, feel free to contact the e-Extension Support Desk.

6.Please note that to have a seamless process for your e-Extension application, you will need a stable working internet connection. In the event of your connection being unstable, an error message will be prompted for security reasons.

Step 2: Book an appointment and Pay the fees online. After providing all the required information, you will have to book an appointment by choosing the date for getting an e-Extension visa stamp in your passport. 

Please note: The location apply and get the e-Extension visa stamp must the same location.

Step 3: Get the e-Extension visa stamp at Immigration. If the fee payment is successful, and your application is processed with an approved e-Extension code, you will receive a pdf file with the decision. You could download and print your required documents for your own reference. We also recommend that you keep a copy of the pdf file on your mobile phone.

Super urgent-Visa Service: You can also apply for a super urgent service, to get your e-Extension visa even faster. By paying an additional fee, you can get your e-Extension decision within the next day (only business day) to help you get an e-Extension visa stamp on short notice.

              3. Photograph size 4 x 6 cm. (not more than 6 months)

              6. In the case of requesting permission for the 2nd year onwards, must be presented the educational achievement and the amount of study hours attended

At the Immigration office

As soon as you arrive at immigration with the approved e-Extension visa, follow the steps mentioned below:

                 1. Go to the e-Extension area at immigration and join the queue to the e-Extension counter

                  2. Present the necessary required documents and passport to the officer

                  3. Get the e-Extension visa stamp

Please be informed that the application process will be completed successfully after applicant get sticker visa at immigration.

Visa fees

The fee payment is the last step of your application process after submitting your details and the other mandatory documents. The fees paid for e-Extension visa would be (NON – refundable online processing fee, inclusive of all charges) as follows:

Visa fee: 1,900 THB

Service fee as following:
  1. Regular Service fee: 500 THB to get your e-Extension decision within the next 7 business days.
  2. Express Service fee: 1,500 THB to get your e-Extension decision within the next 3 business days.
  3. Super urgent service fee: 5,000 THB *You can also apply for a super urgent service, to get your e-Extension decision within the next day (only business day).

You can only pay the fees using a MasterCard, Visa card, Union Pay credit/debit card, WeChat or Alipay. It is not necessary for the card to be under your name. Make sure that your card is a “3D Secure Card” and is enabled to make international transactions.

The e-Extension fees will be paid only in Thai currency (THB). Nevertheless, if you do not have a THB account, an equivalent amount in your local currency will be deducted from your account.

Processing Time

The processing time of the e-Extension is usually between 1-7 working days. If your application has exceeded seven business days, please contact us.

If you have opted for super urgent visa service, the e-Extension will be processed within next day (only business day).

 
Leaving and Re-Entering the Country

Your visa will be canceled automatically once you leave the Kingdom of Thailand unless you have contacted the Immigration Bureau to apply for a Re-Entry Permit before you leave.If you are planning to take several trips outside Thailand, it is advisable to apply for a re-entry permit, especially for those who hold a single-entry visa.

NOTE : When you enter the Office, please take the ticket with the number immediately to get the queue.Then wait your number to appears on the board to go to the counter and hand in the documents. The officer will check your documents and ask you to wait until your ticket number is shown on the board, you can collect your passport and receipt.  Now you can leave the country and you won’t lose your Non-immigrant ED visa.

 

Notification of Residence for Alien Who Stays in The Kingdom Over 90 Days

According to The Immigration Act,B.E.2522,the foreigner who has received a temporary stay permit and stayed in the Kingdom of Thailand over 90 days must notify his residence to immigration officer every 90 days. He/She could notify via internet :

It is better to keep track of the rules of Thai Immigration at all times during your stay in the country, as failure to file your 90-day report can result in a fine of 2,000 THB, and can be increased up to 5,000 THB once you get arrested with an additional fine not exceeding 200 Baht for each day which passes until the law is complied with.

Terms and Conditions Before Application Submission

  • Please check expiry date of stay permit in your passport. You must not overstay.
  • This is not an extension of stay.
  • Overdue notification is not accepted via internet. Applicant must contact the nearest Immigration Office in person.
  • Applicants can submit this online application within 15 days but not less than 7 days before the due date of notification. ( see example )
  • However, if you leave Thailand anytime during the 90-day period, then the day count will restart from upon the arrival date of your re-entry into Thailand.
  • This application online is offered based on the information you provided. If incorrect information was provided, and application online tag may not be issued to you. After Application Submission
  • Once an application has been completed by the applicant. Application status is ‘in progress’.
  • This processing time begins when the Immigration has received your completed application form within 7 working days.

  • When an application has been approved, the applicant should print out his/her receipt of notification via:

90 Days Online Notification

Instructions for Notification of Residence for Foreigners Staying Over 90 Days :

Foreigners staying in Thailand for more than 90 days are required to report their address to the Immigration Bureau in accordance with Thai immigration law.

1. Registration for Online Notification. Foreign nationals must first register an email address to access the online notification system for stays exceeding 90 days.

2. Visit the Immigration Bureau’s website: https://www.immigration.go.th

     – Go to the “Online Services” menu and select “90-Day Notification”

    – Click “Apply” and fill in your details in English: email address, first name, last name, and telephone number

    – Click “Apply” to submit your registration

    – A password will be sent to your registered email address

Note: If you forget your password, click “Forgot Password”, enter your email address, and follow the link sent to your inbox to reset your password.

3. Submitting the 90-Day Notification Online. You can submit your notification up to 15 days in advance of your due date.

   – Visit: https://www.immigration.go.th

   – Select “Online Services (Over 90 days)”

   – Log in using your registered email and password

   – If not yet registered, click “Apply” . If you forgot your password, click “Forgot Password”

  – Click “Accept” to agree to the system’s terms (this is required only once)

  – Select “New Application (TM.47)”

  – Complete the form (fields marked with * are required)

  – Review your information and click “Submit”

  – A confirmation email will be sent, and your application will appear as “Pending”

  – The system retains previously entered address data, which can be reused if reporting for additional residents at the same address.

4. Checking Application Status. You will receive an update via your registered email within 3 working days after submission.To check your status:

   – Visit: https://www.immigration.go.th

  – Log in using your email and password

  – Click “Check the Status of Application”

  – You can either browse all submissions or enter your passport number and click “Search”

  – Your application status will be displayed for review

5. Email Reminder for Next Notification. You will receive an email reminder 15 days before your next due date. Please note that online notification is not available in the following cases:

  – If you have a new passport, you must report in person (or assign someone to report on your behalf) at the immigration office in your area. You may resume online reporting from the next 90-day cycle.

  – Other Reporting Channels, if you cannot report online, you may choose one of the following alternatives:

Report in person at the Immigration Office :

  – Assign someone to submit the notification on your behalf

  – Send the notification by registered mail

  – Report via the online system (if eligible)

Important: Reporting your residence every 90 days is not a visa extension or request to remain in Thailand. Failure to report on time will result in a fine of 2,000 THB. If arrested for failing to report, the fine increases to 5,000 THB. When you leave Thailand, the 90-day count resets upon re-entry.

NOTE: The Immigration Bureau requires at least 15 days for visa validation.

How much is the fine for overstaying?

The fine depends on the number of days you have overstayed. The minimum charge is 500 Baht per day.  This goes to a maximum of 20,000 Baht for overstays of 40 days or longer. However, if you pay the fine and leave the country then you won’t have any problem returning to Thailand at a future date.

Things to do when you’re overstay

– If you’re overstay for week, please contact the Coordinator at your Faculty and go to the Immigration office as soon as possible. The officer will charge you with the fines. The officer may allow you to apply for the visa extension to cover the remaining days of your stay.

Entry to Thailand : Things to check

– You’ll have to show your passport and boarding pass as well as completed arrival and departure cards (TM.6) at the Immigration Check Point.

– Always Check Immigration Stamps in your Passport!! You need to have the ” Entry Stamp” when enter Thailand.

– The officer will return you with the departure card, please keep it securely as you need it for 90 days notification.

Lost & Stolen Passport

  1. Report of the lost at police Station -> Police Report
  2.  Contact your Embassy -> New Passport
  3.  When obtaining new passport -> Immigration Division 1  for Immigration Stamp
