
On 13 December 2024, Ms. Hiroko Imanaga and Mr. Yota Higashi, managers from the Kitakyushu Convention Bureau in Japan, visited Thammasat University’s Rangsit Campus. They were warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, and the Office of International Affairs (OIA) Coordinator for Asia.
The Japanese representatives provided an insightful overview of the Kitakyushu Convention Bureau, which operates under the Kitakyushu Convention and Visitors Association in Fukuoka. They shared details about their organization’s key functions, including managing facilities such as conference and exhibition centers, and offering consulting services related to tourism and event planning.
The visit also aimed to explore potential collaboration with Thammasat University, particularly in facilitating the organization of an international conference in Japan. The delegation emphasized their interest in leveraging Thammasat’s expertise to foster academic and cultural exchange through such events.
To conclude their visit, the delegates were given a guided campus tour, which included prominent facilities such as the Puey Ungphakorn Centenary Hall, Kittiyakarn Main Auditorium, Institute of East Asian Studies, and Thammasat Conference Center. These highlights provided the visitors with a comprehensive view of Thammasat’s advanced infrastructure and vibrant student life.
The visit marks a promising step toward strengthening ties between Thammasat University and the Kitakyushu Convention Bureau, paving the way for future collaborative initiatives.
