On 20 November 2025, Thammasat University formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, during a ceremony held on Thammasat’s Tha Prachan campus. The agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, the Rector of Thammasat University, and Professor Monty Adkins, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield.
The signing was witnessed by representatives from both institutions, including the Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs, the Assistant Dean of Thammasat’s School of Engineering, senior executives from Huddersfield, and high-level representatives from Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group) and the British Council Thailand.
Under this MOU, the two universities will strengthen academic linkages in several key areas, including PhD co-supervision, curriculum and program development, student and staff exchanges, and joint research initiatives.
In his remarks, the Rector emphasized that “this agreement reflects our shared commitment to create meaningful benefits for students and researchers, and our communities.”
In response, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of Huddersfield added that “This meaningful MOU will play an important role in sharing the ambition to build and expand educational pathways, and strengthen the academic ties between the two institutions.”
The ceremony marked not only a significant milestone in advancing long-term academic collaboration between the two parties, but also coincided with the 170th anniversary of UK–Thailand diplomatic relations.
