On 31 October 2025, Prof. Eji Nawata, Director of the Kyoto University ASEAN Center, and Ms. Reina Yamagami, the Center’s newly appointed Deputy Director, visited the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Thammasat’s Tha Prachan campus. The Japanese delegation was warmly received by Ms. Surussawadee Artnonla, the OIA Director, along with the OIA Coordinator for Europe.
Both sides reviewed their ongoing cooperation under their student exchange programs and exchanged views on outbound education trends in Thailand and Japan. The discussion centered on updates and concerns about exchanges, including the number of students exchanged, recruitment, their respective academic calendars and adjustments.
Thammasat University also highlighted its broader educational policy aimed at equipping Thammasat students with practical, out-of-classroom experience and skills through internship programs. This initiative supports the university’s efforts to deepen collaboration with Japanese companies and expand professional opportunities for its students.
