On 8 July 2026, the Office of International Affairs at Thammasat University hosted a meeting with delegations from the International Cooperation and Academic Affairs Departments of the National Economics University, Vietnam. The visit took place during their participation in the Joint Summer Program 2026 under the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme. Thammasat representatives at the welcoming meeting included the Head of the Division of Mobility and OIA regional coordinators, and the Head of Student Affairs at Pridi Banomyong International College.
The meeting began with presentations introducing the academic profiles of both universities. Thammasat representatives also shared an overview of Thailand’s university admissions system and the Thammasat International Student Recruitment (TISR) program, an initiative led by the Office of International Affairs to attract high-quality international students.
The two institutions exchanged perspectives on internationalization strategies and explored opportunities to expand academic cooperation. Discussions focused on student exchange programs, the Double Degree pathway model, academic requirements, course offerings, and joint academic and student engagement activities. Thammasat also shared its experience in developing international programs and student recruitment initiatives, offering valuable insights that NEU could adapt to support its own internationalization efforts and enhance international student enrollment at their institution.
The meeting concluded with both universities reaffirming their commitment to strengthening academic cooperation and promoting greater student mobility. As a gesture of continued partnership, the NEU delegation invited Thammasat University to participate in the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the university’s establishment, scheduled for November 2026.
