On 2 December 2024, Prof. Sasaki Yasuko, President of Ochanomizu University in Japan, accompanied by high-level executives, visited Thammasat University’s Tha Prachan campus. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, along with the OIA Coordinator for Asia.
During the visit, the Ochanomizu delegation presented a comprehensive overview of their current undergraduate and graduate programs. These programs span diverse disciplines, including Letters and Education, Sciences, Human Life and Environmental Science, Transdisciplinary Engineering, and Humanities and Sciences. Additionally, the delegation highlighted their renowned research centers, such as the Institute for Gendered Innovations (IGI), the Institute for Competency Development, the Institute for SDGs Promotion, and the Institute for Gender Studies.
The primary goal of the visit was to explore and expand academic collaboration between Thammasat and Ochanomizu universities. Discussions centered on potential initiatives such as student exchange programs, Double-degree and Joint-degree programs, the Inter-University Exchange Project, and the Practice-based EDI Program + Global Internship.
As the visit concluded, Prof. Sasaki Yasuko extended a cordial invitation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee to visit Ochanomizu’s Institute for Gender Studies during his upcoming trip to Japan in mid-December 2024. This gesture underscored the shared commitment to fostering deeper ties and advancing academic excellence between the two institutions.
