Thammasat explores academic ties with KFUPM in Saudi Arabia

On 18 November 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, welcomed a delegation from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. The visiting team was led by Prof. Suliman Saleh Al-Homidan, Dean of the College of Graduate & Interdisciplinary Studies, and included Mr. Suphaklit Wangdee, Student Ambassador. Executives from Thammasat’s Faculties of Science and Technology and Engineering also joined the meeting.  

The session began with an overview from the KFUPM delegates, who introduced  the university’s inter-programs and key areas of expertise, particularly in Engineering, Energy Engineering, and Business management.   

Prof. Suliman expressed enthusiasm for further cooperation between the two institutions, especially in academic exchanges, internship opportunities, short-term programs, joint seminars, and collaborative research schemes supported by scholarships. He also highlighted the PhD. scholarship program at KFUPM, which provides a monthly stipend, tuition fee waiver, travel support, health insurance, and housing.
