Thammasat University visits Japanese Universities to strengthen ties

From 26 February to 4 March 2025, Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Rector of Thammasat University, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, visited Japan to foster academic collaboration with Kobe University, Hyogo University, and Musashino University.  

 

Engagement at Kobe University

On 27 February, the Thammasat delegates participated in the JV-Campus Project Kick-off Symposium at Kobe University. The event provided a platform for discussions on enhancing opportunities for ASEAN students to study at the Graduate School of International Corporation Studies (GSICS). Additionally, the delegates explored the implementation of virtual classrooms for ASEAN students and discussed potential Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT) to support international education.  

 

Collaboration with Hyogo University 

On 28 February, the Thammasat Rector and Vice Rector were welcomed to Hyogo University by the President, Prof. Makoto Kosaka, along with the CEO, Mr. Yoshihiro Okawa, and Vice President, Prof. Ikuya Kano. Both institutions expressed a strong commitment to student exchange programs and the development of Global Business Courses (GBC) at the School of Economics and Management. 

 

Academic Partnership with Musashino University

During a visit to Musashino University on 4 March 2025, the Thammasat executives were greeted by Rector Prof. Temura Nishimoto. Discussions focused on launching a double-degree program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science, reinforcing the universities’ dedication to technological and interdisciplinary education.   

 

These visits represent significant steps in strengthening the academic ties between Thammasat and partner universities in Japan, laying the foundation for deepening the educational collaboration between Thammasat and prospective partners for long-term cooperation.
