Thammasat and HUST China explore further cooperation

On 27 March 2025, Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, the Rector of Thammasat, welcomed Prof. Wang Xigen, Dean of the Law School at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), along with his assistant, to Thammasat’s Rangsit campus.  

Also present to receive the HUST delegation were Dr. Usanee Patapsikij Lertrattanon, Assistant to the Rector for International Affairs, and executives from the Faculties of Law and Social Administration.  

The Rector provided a comprehensive overview of Thammasat’s academic programs, spanning Social Sciences, Science and Technology, and Health Sciences. He also highlighted the university’s policy to support outside-the-classroom skills for Thammasat students, such as internship programs, international exchange programs, and dual degree opportunities 

In response, Prof. Wang briefed Thammasat on HUST’s broad academic portfolio, which closely mirrors Thammasat offerings. He highlighted several of HUST’s distinguished programs, particularly in the fields of Engineering, Science, Medicine, Technology Management, and the Humanities.  

During the meeting, the HUST delegates expressed strong enthusiasm for exploring collaborative opportunities with Thammasat, particularly in areas such as summer programs, scholarship opportunities, academic exchanges, and the co-establishment of a Human Rights Center at Thammasat. Additionally, an invitation was extended to Thammasat University to participate in an upcoming online conference on Digital Laws Review, scheduled for October 2025.
