Thammasat and Kütahya Dumlupınar University Explore Erasmus+ and Mobility Opportunities

On 14 February 2025, Thammasat University and Kütahya Dumlupınar University, Turkey, explored potential mobility opportunities through the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) program. This collaboration aims to strengthen academic partnerships and foster student and staff exchanges between the two institutions. 

The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs at Thammasat University, alongside Dr. Veronica Winoto and Ms. Monthikakarn Nutcharak from the Faculty of Engineering, and the Erasmus coordinator from the Office of International Affairs (OIA). The delegation from Kütahya Dumlupınar University included: 

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Derya DELİKTAŞ, Deputy Head of the Industrial Engineering Department 
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Dilcu GÖNÜL, Vice Dean of Research Deanship 
  • Dr. Berrin DEMİR, Vice Manager of International Relations 

The primary purpose of the visit was to explore avenues for collaboration under the Erasmus+ ICM framework, as well as within the context of broader EU-funded projects. The meeting aimed to develop a deeper and more meaningful partnership between the two universities. 

During the discussions, the Vice Rector provided an overview of Thammasat University, highlighting its international programs and past experiences with Erasmus+ projects. In turn, the Kütahya Dumlupınar University representatives shared details about their institution and the Erasmus+ program they are applying for, expressing a desire to include Thammasat University as a partner from Asia. 

Following the meeting, the Kütahya Dumlupınar delegation was given a tour of Thammasat University’s campus, organized by the OIA. The tour included visits to key facilities such as the Thammasat dormitories and Thammasat Hospital, showcasing the university’s infrastructure and student life. 

This visit marks an important step in strengthening academic ties between Thammasat University and Kütahya Dumlupınar University, with the Erasmus+ program serving as a vital tool for enhancing international cooperation and mobility. 

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between Thammasat and Kyoto University, focusing on exchange programs and academic initiatives. Both sides provided key information about dormitories, student activities, facilities, and services available to students at both universities who are interested in gaining experience in either Japan or Thailand. 

Following the meeting, the OIA hosted an information session on the Kyoto Summer Program, led by staff from the Kyoto University ASEAN Center. Nearly 20 students from the Faculties of Political Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, and the College of Innovation, attended the session, gaining valuable insights into academic opportunities and student life at Kyoto University.
