Thammasat discusses expanding collaboration with Technical University of Cluj-Napoca

On 24 February 2025, Thammasat’s Rangsit campus hosted a visit from Prof. Dr. Topa Vasile, Rector, and Mr. Eng Alexandru Lazarec, Director of Structural Funds, from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (TUCN), Romania. The distinguished guests were warmly received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supranee Lisawadi, Assistant to the Rector for Research and Innovation, alongside Deans, Deputy Directors, and senior executives from Thammasat’s Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology, and the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT) 

The visit began with a cordial welcome from the Assistant to Rector, followed by presentations from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Deputy Director of SIIT, who provided details about the university’s current academic programs and initiatives.  

While Thammasat and TUCN have already established a partnership at the faculty level, this visit focused on exploring opportunities for expanding collaboration to the university-wide levelDiscussions centered around key areas such as joint research initiatives, doctoral degree programs, and student exchanges. Both institutions also discussed potential collaboration through the Erasmus+ program, which would provide additional opportunities for academic cooperation and mobility.   

As a member of the prestigious European University Association (EUA), TUCN is recognized for its strong academic and research reputation. This visit marks a significant step toward deepening the partnership between Thammasat University and one of Romania’s leading higher education institutions, with the goal of advancing joint research, academic exchange, and innovation.
