Thammasat participates in the “The Beijing Forum 2025” in Beijing, China

Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Rector of Thammasat University, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supreedee Rittironk, Vice Rector for International Affairs, represented Thammasat University at The Beijing Forum 2025, held from 7–9 November 2025 in Beijing, China.  

Co-sponsored by Beijing University, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies, the Forum was held under the theme “The Harmony of Civilizations and Prosperity for All: Civilizational Coexistence in the Age of Digital Intelligence”. The event brought together policymakers, educators, academics, global leaders, diplomats, and scholars to exchange ideas on academic cooperation, culture, public policy, and to promote international dialogue, particularly in the areas of global humanities, social sciences, and global development.  

Moe than 7,000 participants from over 80 Countries attended the onsite conference, which featured a dynamic lineup of keynote speakers, panel discussions, and networking events. 

On 7 November 2025, the Thammasat delegation attended the opening ceremony at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, where they engaged with leaders and representatives from around the world, fostering global cooperation, dialogue, and valuable network building. 

On 8-9 November, 2025, the main Forum sessions were convened at Beijing University, featuring over 20 meetings and 200 panel discussions. Prof. Supasawad represented Thammasat University at the “Beijing Forum 2025 DI-IDEA Sub Forum: Education in Ten Years: Practices and Reflections in the Digital Intelligence Era”, organized by the Digital Intelligence International Development Education Alliance (DI-IDEA). He delivered insights on the transformative role of digital and intelligent technologies in higher education.  

 

During the Forum, Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn also held a bilateral meeting with Prof. Gong Qihuang, President of Beijing University. Their discussion focused on exploring new collaborative initiatives, underscoring university-wide collaboration in science and technology. Additionally, the Thammasat Rector met with Dr. Park Jin, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, to whom he extended an official invitation to serve as a guest of honor and deliver a diplomatic talk at Thammasat University.
