Welcoming New Students to Thammasat: Semester 2/2025

Cultural and Campus Tours

11 January 2026 – International students had the opportunity to explore Thai culture and heritage through guided visits to Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks. The morning started with cultural tours of the Emerald Buddha Temple, the Grand Palace, Museum Siam, and the National Museum, Bangkok.

During a visit to the Emerald Buddha Temple and Grand Palace, international students gained valuable insights into the history and elegance of Thai architecture, mural painting, religious narratives, historical legends, and intricate stucco artworks that showcase Thailand’s rich artistic heritage and masterful craftsmanship.

At Museum Siam, students experienced the innovative concept of a “modern museum,” where history comes alive through interactive technology and creative activities. The exhibits offered perspectives on Thailand’s historical development through, architecture, traditions, cuisine, and clothing. Students also explored Thai history, the evolution of archeological arts in Thailand as well as viewing the historical collection of a variety of artistic, cultural, and ethnological objects at the National Museum, Bangkok.

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to campus life as students toured key facilities at the Tha-Prachan campus. Highlights included the underground library, Pridi Banomyong Court, the university canteen, the Health Center, the gym and TU Book Stores. The tour helped students become familiar with essential services and spaces that will support their academic and personal well-being throughout their time at Thammasat.
